New Hardy Players

The New Hardy Players were formed in 2005 to celebrate the works of Dorset's world famous and much loved author and poet Thomas Hardy.  A friendly and supportive group from all walks of Dorset life, the players meet throughout the year to perform work  written by Dorset writers, and to enjoy each others company. The annual Hardy related play is rehearsed and performed during the spring and summer months. The autumn winter and spring months bring performances from a feast of Dorset Voices that include Hardy, Barnes and new work written by the groups talented writers.

Angel Exit


Formed in 2001 by graduates of the prestigious Ecole Lecoq, Angel Exit Theatre is a shifting ensemble of performers with a shared passion for new dynamic physical theatre, under the artistic direction of Tamsin Fessey and Lynne Forbes.  To date Angel Exit have devised, produced and performed five original pieces of theatre, all critically acclaimed. They have very different stories, but what the shows have in common is a strong emphasis on storytelling through physical ensemble theatre, using the European traditions of clown, chorus, melodrama and buffoonery.

Dorchester Youth Theatre

The Dorchester Youth Theatre is for young people who have a passion for theatre and are interested in performing. Led by actor Bianca Judd, DYT uses improvisation, games and devising to create a drama.  The Dorchester Youth Theatre offers young people aged 8 - 18 who has a passion for performance, theatre and stage management the opportunity to develop skills and self-confidence through all aspects of theatre and stage management.
