Death and the Doctor, Sutton Poyntz 1862
A Lecture by Richard Samways of 'Death and the Doctor, Sutton Poyntz 1862' discusses Doctor Adam Puckett who was he was savagely murdered by one of his patients. His murder caused more than the usual outcry, for not only was it so brutal, questions were then raised as to why the doctor covered such a large area and for so little remuneration. The lecture will be held Museum Resource Centre, at the Weymouth Museum, which is located on the first floor of Brewers Quay on Monday afternoon from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm.
Admission will be free but, as usual, attendance will need to be booked a week in advance to secure a seat at these popular talks.
